'Game Of Our Own' Programme Supports Girls In Football

Year 7 girls take part in the 'Game Of Our Own' Leadership Programme.

The FA and Barclays, in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, have an ambition to ensure every girl has equal access to football in school by 2024. The 'Game of Our Own' Leadership programme - supported by Barclays - provides training to girls in Key Stage 3 to design, create and deliver football opportunities for their peers.

The 'Game of Our Own' Leadership Programme is a fantastic opportunity for a selection of girls at Louth Academy to inspire their fellow peers to become more physically active within Sport and Physical Education.

There was an overwhelming response from students wishing to enrol on this programme. Twelve Year 7 girls were selected and have shown great enthusiasm and dedication to the programme, creating their own ideas on how to develop and promote girls’ football within the Academy.
