Academy Closure from Monday 23 March 2020
In line with the Government directive, the Academy will be closed from Monday 23 March until further notice. Advice from the Department for Education is that parents should keep their children at home and do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue the spread of the Coronavirus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.
The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. The fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.
Work on FROG
All students can access our learning platform FROG. Work has been placed on FROG by teaching staff and will be constantly updated during the closure period. Students need to use their normal username and password to log on. If you have any difficulty with accessing FROG please email firstname.lastname@example.org The dates given on assignments are for guidance only in terms of completing work. These are not deadlines and students should not worry if they are not able to complete work by a set date.
Students on Free School Meals
Our food provider, Aspens will provide a packed lunch for students on Free School Meals. These will be available to collect from the Academy's Upper Campus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 11am from the Academy's kitchens located to the right of the main entrance.
Vulnerable students and Key Workers
Parents whose work is critical to the COVID-19 response can be supported at the Academy's Upper Campus if your child cannot be safely cared for at home. If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be. The following link will provide you with a list of key workers and government advice.
If you need to access this provision please contact us by text using the MyEd app, e-mail email@example.com or phone 01507 606 349 to confirm that your child will be attending the Academy.
Students using this service whilst the Academy is closed must attend in full Academy uniform. The Academy will operate the usual opening hours and all procedures relating to students will operate as normal. Food will be available as normal for students attending the Academy. Currently school transport is continuing as normal. If you have any queries relating to transport, please contact Lincolnshire County Council.
We would urge parents not to attend the Academy for any reason and to contact us either via firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephoning 01507 606 349. If you have to visit reception, please observe social distancing by remaining 2 metres away from our staff.
Can I please ask that you regularly check our website for updates on this ever changing situation.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your support at such a difficult and challenging time.
Mr M J Brown
