Academy Closure From Monday 23 March 2020

20 March 2020

Dear Parent/Carer

Academy Closure from Monday 23 March 2020

In line with the Government directive, the Academy will be closed from Monday 23 March until further notice. Advice from the Department for Education is that parents should keep their children at home and do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue the spread of the Coronavirus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. The fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.

Work on FROG

All students can access our learning platform FROG. Work has been placed on FROG by teaching staff and will be constantly updated during the closure period. Students need to use their normal username and password to log on. If you have any difficulty with accessing FROG please email The dates given on assignments are for guidance only in terms of completing work. These are not deadlines and students should not worry if they are not able to complete work by a set date.

Students on Free School Meals

Our food provider, Aspens will provide a packed lunch for students on Free School Meals. These will be available to collect from the Academy's Upper Campus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 10am and 11am from the Academy's kitchens located to the right of the main entrance.
