Leavers 2020 - Message From The Principal

Dear Year 11 students

My very best wishes to you all at this challenging and unusual time. Please be assured that you have all been in our thoughts over the past three months whilst we have been handling the COVID crisis, and that you continue to be on our minds as we wait for the GCSE results to be published in August. I know Miss Allison has been speaking to many of you, making sure you have plans in place for life after Louth Academy.

We appreciate that the current school closure and the cancellation of GCSE exams has caused some anxiety for many of you. Please remember that staff at the Academy are available should you need them during the next few months.

We want to continue to support you at this unusual time, and have therefore made the following available on our website: -

Leavers 2020 - Leavers Video (This short film has been made for staff to say their goodbyes to you. The link will take you to FROG so you will need to log in)
Leavers 2020 - Careers page (useful links to websites that provide help, advice and guidance)
Leavers 2020 - Letter from the Principal
Leavers 2020 - Ofqual letter (this sets out the procedure for GCSE results this year)
Leavers 2020 - Mental Health (this is a link to a useful website designed to help young people)

I hope the information above is reassuring and helps to answer some of the queries you may have at this time. Do keep checking the Year 11 tab on our website for further updates including details for the collection of your results on Thursday 20 August 2020.

I understand that finishing your GCSEs and leaving school is a big step for you, and one that has happened in a very different way to normal. All of the staff at Louth Academy appreciate this and have been thinking about you and wish you well for the future. I am confident that you will all move forward from this situation and be successful – you are a resilient, positive group of young people.

I look forward to seeing you again on GCSE results day.

Mr Martin Brown
