Knowledge & Skills

This course provides the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding in:

  • Child development and well-being necessary for working with children in a variety of settings.
  • You will be introduced to childcare and development for children aged 0-5 years.
  • You will gain an insight into your preferred learning style and the course will support you in developing your ability to study.

Resources & Facilities

The department has plenty of differentiated resources to enable you to enjoy a variety of interesting activities both practical and written assignments. We offer daily extra sessions to enable every student to access the resources and support they may require.

Courses & Qualifications

To complete this course you will:

Complete 3 units:

Units 1 and 2 - These are two internally assessed coursework units graded A*-D.

Unit 3 - One Multiple choice question paper. If you don't enjoy doing exams there is no need to worry as this is a multiple choice paper therefore you will simply add a cross against the correct answer.

Where Does This Take Me In The Future?

Following this course you may decide to continue into further study to gain a qualification which will enable you to work with children in Early Years.

Working with children with disabilities
Play worker
